As German and Japanese origin, Mariko Klug grew up in Japan and Brazil but now has settled down in Erding near Munich in South Germany with her husband, son and dog.
She first became aware of iPhone photography in 2011 when a friend of hers started posting Hipstamatic photos on Facebook. Shortly afterwards she got her first iPhone 4 and since then iPhone photography is her dearest hobby.
The simplicity of iPhone photography attracts her. “I simply take my phone out of the pocket and shoot. No lost opportunities anymore. If necessary, I edit my photos with photo editing apps and there are endless varieties of them. No heavy equipment, it’s all in one, just so simple and perfect for me to live out my creativity.” Mariko mentioned in the interview.
She loves photography in general but specially she’s focusing on landscape and nature photography. “It’s what is around me.” She said. She spends a lot of time outdoors to walk her dog through forests, fields and meadows regardless of the weather. “Every season and every weather has something special to offer and if you have a closer look there are interesting and beautiful things waiting to be discovered. This amazes and inspires me!”.
Mariko had her work displayed at exhibitions in the USA, Canada and Germany and participated in various Mobile Photography contests, like the Mobile Photography Awards and iPhone Photography Awards.
